- Selena Facebook update: Hey Everyone, I just wanted to send you all an update from Budapest. I finally started filming yesterday for Monte Carlo the past two to three weeks have been learning how to play polo and getting my British accent just right. The cast is amazing and I am so ready to get this project started. Budapest is absolutely gorgeous and the people here are very friendly. I do miss home a lot though and will be ready to get back to America when the project is over, I feel like I have been gone forever. I have also been working on my second album every weekend and should have it to you guys before the year ends, I cannot wait for you guys to here this album. I think we might be doing a couple more concerts here in Europe while I am still out here but, nothing has been confirmed yet I will let you guys know as soon as I know for sure.

I have been getting updates about how the record has been doing overseas and I guess things have been successful so I just wanted to Thank You all so much for supporting the album, I hope to come play some songs for you soon.

For those of you on the site obviously www.selenagomez.com has launched we are constantly making changes to make the site better each day. For those of you not on selenagomez.com it has launched and it is the best place to go for updates on everything I have going on plus exclusive pictures and videos..

-Nick Jonas shows off his baseball skills in this new Radio Disney NBT: Making It Big home video with Allstar Weekend. Allstar Weekend has been busy working on their debut album, which is set to release later this year. We wonder if maybe Nick helped them out with a track. Nick has mentioned in previous interviews that he was interesting in having Allstar Weekend record his track, “While the World is Spinning.” Hmmm…

The actress-and-singer is glad her relationship with Jonas Brothers star Nick Jonas ended because being single means she can focus on what’s most important to her. “I’m happy that is all in the past now,” Gomez said of her relationship with Jonas. “I’m very much single, I’m dating myself now — I think if you don’t love yourself first, no one else will love you.” Selena and Nick — who previously romanced Miley Cyrus — dated on and off between 2008 and April this year.

Although she has had hits with songs from her debut album Kiss and Tell including Falling Down, Selena, 17, is looking forward to returning to the set of hit US TV show Wizards of Waverley Place.

“I love music, but acting is where I started and what I enjoy the most,” she said.

The teen star is also set to appear in a new movie alongside Nicole Kidman, and admits she was terrified ahead of their first meeting.

“You always get nervous when you meet an actor you really respect,” she said. “But Nicole is amazing. She’s so funny. I can’t wait to start shooting.”

Selena inspired by old-school Britney for sophomore album

After scoring a big hit with her dance-pop single “Naturally”, 17-year-old Disney cutie Selena Gomez is taking inspiration from from Queen of teen pop for her upcoming sophomore album, looking to Britney Spears older records to drive the sound of her next record.

“I think what we really want to do with this record is musically more mature and with my whole sound and vibe and what I want to become as a musician. I think this is the first step to that. So it’s very techno, it’s very like old-school Britney stuff that I love.” source

Selena’s first album Kiss & Tell has been certified Gold since it’s release, while “Naturally” reached the top thirty of the Hot 100 and top ten in the UK.

“Naturally” actually sounds like something from Britney’s 2001 third album ‘Britney’, so I hope Selena goes in that direction. Besides the raunchy “Slave 4 U” the rest of that album was just vibrant feel-good dance-pop and I think that right now pop music is moving out of it’s dark phase, so that’d be the best direction to go in for Selena.

We recently spoke with Cameron Quiseng from Hollywood Record’s Allstar Weekend about his good friend Selena Gomez. The two were spotted hanging out and bowling together and rumors started flying that they were dating. We asked Cameron if he could describe Selena in one sentence, what would he say:

“She’s probably the nicest, sweetest girl you’ll ever meet. We played a few shows with her and we all met her. And when Michael and I went bowling with Selena she killed us. She beat me really bad. It was really embarrassing because I told everyone I was really good…I was a terrible bowler.”
